New Business Models for News

by Jeremy Porter on July 27, 2009

For those of you that have been reading this blog for a while, you know I’m pretty interested in new business models for news. I was excited to see that the City University of New York Graduate School of Journalism (and Jeff Jarvis) is working on the New Business Models for News project, funded by the Knight Foundation. The team is currently reaching out to local websites to gather information and ideas from across the country. In a recent blog post on BuzzMachine, Jeff Javis explains that they want to bring facts, figures and business analysis to the debate over the future of journalism.

This seems like a great project and I wanted to do my part to get the word out. If you are affiliated with an organization or initiative related to local news, please take a few minutes to take the survey. Once the results are out, I’ll be sure to blog about their findings here.

I’m sure you share in my interest to stay on top of new business models for news and will do your part to help with the research.
